Participants

We welcome applications from anyone working in the field of early childhood education and wanting to learn about Reggio's approach. There will be delegates from many other English speaking countries in attendance (Australia, New Zealand, America, Singapore etc); this will provide wonderful opportunities for international exchanges.

We encourage participation of pairs, teams or groups as well as individuals. Separate applications must be filled out for each individual. Applications will be considered on a first come first served basis. Applicants will be contacted via email within 10 days of receipt of signed application form.

Participation Fee

The participation fee is £1,440. This fee covers:

  • Administration, advice and support
  • Seminars, presentations, exhibits, visits to preschools
  • Bus transportation to schools (as necessary)
  • Guided tour of the city
  • UK discussion groups
  • Interpretation
  • 5 lunches at the International Centre

Please note: The fee does not include flights, accommodation or subsistence. In the event of a significant change in the exchange rate at time of final payment, we may need to invoice delegates for the disparity.

Travel arrangements

Participants will need to make their own travel arrangements. We recommend you fly to Bologna Airport as this is the most convenient. If there are sufficient participants arriving at a similar time, we can usually arrange onward coach travel to Reggio Emilia and return coach travel at the end of the study week. Alternatively you could fly into Milan or Parma and travel from there by train to Reggio Emilia.

We advise that you are in Reggio Emilia by Sunday 17th April 2016 as we will have a UK group welcome meeting on the Sunday morning. In the afternoon there is normally a guided tour around the town. We advise you return home on or after Saturday 23rd April (on Saturday morning we anticipate arranging coach transportation to Bologna airport).

Accommodation

We will arrange the accommodation for you. To facilitate your booking, we are currently reserving block bookings with selected hotels in Reggio Emilia. You are of course, still free to make your own accommodation arrangements but our block bookings usually ensure the best possible rate. Seven night's hotel accommodation (arriving Saturday 16th April and checking out Saturday 23rd April) will cost in the region of £520 for a single room and £330 each if sharing a twin room.

Venue

The event will take place at the purpose-built Loris Malaguzzi International centre on the outskirts of Reggio Emilia. This centre is within walking distance of the hotels.
