During the week you will learn about

  • Essential elements of the operation of the infant-toddler centres and preschools

The International study group programme will be developed through:

  • Visits to the town of Reggio Emilia: social, cultural, political context
  • Encountering the town community
  • Presentations by pedagogistas, atelieristas and teachers on the educational project of the pre schools and infant toddler centres of Reggio Emilia
  • Presentation and analysis of the research projects realised inside the preschools and infant toddler centres
  • Visits to the preschools, infant toddler centres and the International Centre Loris Malaguzzi documentation and research centre
  • Workshops
  • Discussion groups

1Participants
We welcome the participation of those working in any area of early childhood education including: Head teachers, educators, teaching assistants, artists, politicians, trainers, advisers, Early Years Partnership officers, auxiliary staff, outreach workers, Children’s Centre Managers, playgroup managers etc.

 Fee
 £1,350  (This fee does not include flights and accommodation.)


Accommodation 
Sightlines Initiative arrange block bookings with Hotels (you will be informed of options for accommodation upon booking) Accommodation for 7 nights will be in the region of £550; the cost is reduced by sharing a room.

Travel
We recommend that  you fly to Bologna as this is the nearest airport to Reggio Emilia. Depending on when you book, UK return flights (to Bologna, Milan or Parma) range from £100 - £350. We organise transfers to and from airports wherever possible. Participants are advised to arrive by Sunday 14th April 2013  and leave on Saturday 20th  April 2013.
