Here is a brief  notice about professional formation events coming up in Autumn 2025 and Spring 2026; we will have more information  and registration here by September '25.   • Thursday 9th October 2025: an online discussion 'Listening in Practice' organised by our London Network group: details and registration below;
  • Saturday 11th October 2025: we will be participating in the NEU early years conference at Hamilton House, London, presenting a focus session 'Reclaiming Quality;' 
  • November 2025: online presentation by an educator of Reggio Emilia's Preschools - Wed 12th or Thursday 13th 4pm tbc; 
  • December 2025: online presentation: Pedagogical Characteristics for An Environment of Enquiry - Wed 10th or Thursday 11th tbc;
  • Saturday 14th February 2026: National Conference at Hamilton House, London, in collaboration with NEU: The Wonder of Learning - Principles and Practice of Reggio Emilia's Preschools presented by an educator from the preschools of Reggio Emilia, with additional example of evolving Reggio-aligned praxis in a UK Nursery;
  • April 19th - 26th 2026: Reggio Study Group - in Reggio Emilia, Italy. Registration details soon (places limited).


Centres are showing great enthusiasm to connect and grow, and we will be offering seminars, events and exchanges to maximise the potential of these times.

With Reggio Children recognised teacher-educators on the Reggio Emilia Approach Debi Keyte-Hartland (Early Education Associate Consultant) and Louise Lowings (Headteacher of Madeley Nursery School, Telford & Wrekin, and Sightlines Initiative Trustee).


This series is hosted by Early Education. When booking, Sightlines Initiative members should contact Sightlines Initiative office to obtain their registration members discount code.


Debi and Louise have visited Reggio Emilia on numerous Sightlines Initiative study groups over the past 25 years, each time researching a different aspect of their pedagogy and practice. As representatives of Sightlines Initiative they have undertaken professional development with Reggio Children to become recognised teacher-educators on the Reggio Approach (a new initiative of Reggio Children through the Reggio Children International Network). 

This professional learning community is suitable for anyone:

  • who has attended a study group to Reggio Emilia in the past who is wanting to connect and/or deepen their practice in dialogue with the Reggio Emilia Approach ®
  • thinking about attending a study tour in the near future to visit the pre-schools and infant toddler centres of Reggio Emilia
  • curious to know more about the approach which has become an international reference point throughout the world.
