Working with Visual Metaphor: Network project 2019-20

We are developing a 2019 - 20 project proposal for Sightlines Initiative Network members. Anyone who is a subscribed member can participate, whether or not they are in a  Network Group.  The aim is to spotlight the various ways in which children (and adults) express themselves through visual metaphor, and are inspired by objects which  spark mataphorical meaning. It will also be a focus on how educators can develop new opportunities for children to explicitly explore and make visible their visual-metaphoric' ideas. During the year we aim to exchange ideas, findings and inspirations, techniques, insights and ongoing projects. 

Our project is inspired by a project constructed and curated by Reggio Emilia colleagues introducing the work behind ‘A Festive Thought – visual metaphor in children’s learning processes.’
