The 5x5x5=creativity project (2004-5)
5x5x5 = Creativity in the Early Years is a research project based in Bath and North East Somerset. Originally there were 5 early years settings working with 5 artists and 5 cultural centres such as theatres, galleries, museums working together in three-way collaborations (triangles). The aim of 5x5x5 is to show how we can foster creativity in young children and to establish creativity as an essential foundation of early learning. The project has been inspired by the creative educational approach of the preschools of Reggio Emilia in Northern Italy. The main funders were NESTA (National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts) and the LEAs.
The project is now in its fourth year and a report from each year is available, i.e. 2002-3 (pink cover), 2003-4 (turquoise cover) and 2004-5 (deep blue cover).
